Coface has renewed its signature of L’Autre Cercle’s LGBTQIA+ Commitment Charter. This move confirms the Group’s commitment to promoting an inclusive, respectful and safe working environment for all its employees.
On June 17, Coface renewed its commitment by re-signing L’Autre Cercle’s LGBTQIA+ Commitment Charter. Created in France by the association L’Autre Cercle, this charter aims at promoting inclusive working environments based on equal treatment, respect for LGBTQIA+ people and the fight against all forms of discrimination.
Whilst this initiative originated in France, Coface’s commitment extends beyond national borders. The principles set out in the Charter are intended to apply across all the Group’s geographical areas, tailored to local circumstances and the needs of its employees.
Our commitment to L’Autre Cercle reflects a simple conviction: everyone should be able to be themselves at work, in a respectful and safe environment.
The progress made is encouraging, and we must continue to put this commitment to inclusion into practice on a daily basis, throughout the Group.
Pierre Bévierre, Head of Human Resources.
Measurable progress and a positive trend
Latest results in France point to a positive trend. According to data from internal measurement tools, 98 per cent of employees describe Coface as an LGBTQIA+-friendly working environment. Only 3 per cent report having experienced unequal treatment, compared with 12 per cent in the benchmark survey.
These results reflect the progress made in recent years thanks to initiatives carried out with employees, managers, DE&I ambassadors and allies: awareness-raising, training, sharing best practice and reinforcing the principles of non-discrimination.
A collective responsibility and no tolerance for discrimination
Coface also remains attentive to any inappropriate behaviour that may still occur. Homophobic remarks, mockery, insults or forms of exclusion must not be trivialised. The Group therefore reaffirms its principle of no tolerance towards any form of discrimination.
At Coface, everyone must have the opportunity to be themselves at work, in a respectful, safe and open environment. By renewing its commitment to L’Autre Cercle, the Group reaffirms this ambition and its determination to continue making progress.
